Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about your care.

Review the information below before your first appointment or contact us if you need additional assistance.

01
Do patients need a referral?

A referral may not be required for every physiotherapy appointment. Requirements can vary depending on your situation, insurance provider, claim type, or other circumstances.

If you are unsure whether you need a referral, please contact the clinic before your appointment so our team can help clarify the requirements that apply to you.

02
Do you offer insurance and direct billing?

Insurance coverage for physiotherapy depends on your individual plan and eligibility. Direct billing may be available for participating insurance providers and eligible claims.

Patients should confirm their physiotherapy coverage, annual limits, deductibles, and any referral or pre-authorization requirements with their insurance provider.

If you are attending under an ICBC or WorkSafeBC claim, please provide the relevant claim information to the clinic so the appropriate billing process can be followed.

03
What payment methods are accepted?

Payment options can include commonly accepted clinic payment methods. Available payment methods may vary, so patients can confirm the current options with the clinic before their appointment.

If your visit is being processed through insurance, direct billing, ICBC, or WorkSafeBC, the clinic can explain any applicable patient portion or payment requirements.

04
What should I bring to my first appointment?

For your first appointment, bring any relevant medical or treatment information that may help your physiotherapist understand your condition.

  • Health or insurance information, when applicable
  • ICBC or WorkSafeBC claim information, if applicable
  • Relevant imaging or medical reports, if available
  • A list of medications or relevant medical information
  • Comfortable clothing that allows the affected area to be assessed

If you are unsure whether you need to bring a particular document, contact the clinic before your visit.

05
What should I expect during my first appointment?

Your first visit generally begins with a conversation about your symptoms, health history, current concerns, activity requirements, and goals.

Your physiotherapist may then assess movement, mobility, strength, functional limitations, and other relevant clinical factors.

Based on the assessment, your physiotherapist will explain the findings and discuss an individualized treatment and rehabilitation plan with you.

06
What can I expect from physiotherapy treatment?

Treatment is tailored to your condition, goals, activity needs, and assessment findings. Depending on your needs, care may include education, hands-on techniques, movement strategies, therapeutic exercise, mobility work, and progressive rehabilitation.

Your treatment plan may change over time as your symptoms, movement, strength, and functional goals progress.

07
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact the clinic as early as possible so the appointment time can be offered to another patient.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a clinic fee. The specific notice period and applicable fee should be confirmed with the clinic when booking.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact the clinic directly rather than simply missing the appointment.
